The official launching event was held on Thursday, November 21st at the Meridien Ré-Ndama Hotel in Libreville, in the presence of the Gabonese Minister of Health, Max Limoukou, the French Ambassador to Gabon, Philippe Autié, the Deputy Director General of the CNAMGS, Audrey Chambrier, and the Director of International Operations of Servier’s Generic Division, Emmanuel Le Doeuff.

This launch in Gabon is in line with Biogaran’s commitment to democratize the access to quality generic medicines. Biogaran medicines, bioequivalent to the originator, are 89% produced in Europe and 50% in France, in strict compliance with European manufacturing standards. They guarantee that patients will receive effective and safe medication.

Max Limoukou, Minister of Health, said: “Biogaran presents itself to us today as the alternative for the provision of generic medicines that meet the most demanding European standards. We are counting on your professionalism to satisfy our request and to see an end to the difficulties in supplying pharmaceutical products to our health facilities”.

Offering a wide range of medicines

Biogaran medicines marketed in Gabon cover a wide range of pathologies that are increasingly present in Africa, such as hypertension and diabetes, of which Gabon is the 3rd most affected country in the sub-region according to the International Diabetes Federation (IDF)[1]. Biogaran also aims at marketing 10 new medicines each year to meet public health needs in the country.

In addition to the quality of our medicines, we also want to support patients and healthcare professionals,” said Emmanuel Le Doeuff, Director of International Operations for Servier’s Generics Division.

Therapeutic education tools will be available for patients to help them manage their disease.
